Having this on-tap at the brewery. Served in a standard pint glass, this beer draws a clear, deep, dark amber/copper color with lots of bubbles rising rapidly and continuously rising to the beer's surface. At this point, the beer's appearance reminds me of that of a soda pop or similar soft drink. The shite head's about 1/2 of an inch thick when first served and settles very quickly to a pretty thin lining the inside of the glass with no lacing. Aromas of toasted caramel malt sweetness and certainly some oats, as it is stated that the grain bill for this beer is 20% oats. Has a slight herbal, floral hop aroma too. The taste is pretty much the same, with a biscuit, toasted, sweet caramel malt flavor that's accompanied by the aforementioned oats followed by a light herbal and floral hop bitterness for good measure. The sweet flavors certainly do dominate here though. Has a fairly crisp, smooth and frothy, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish. Very easy to drink in the right kind of way good beer ought to be.
