Having this on-tap at the brewery. Served in a pint glass, this beer draws a clear, medium to dark golden color with a nice white head that’s about an inch thick when first drawn and that settles to a very thick ring long the inside of the glass with a nice surface coating of a film layer of foam and excellent lacing. Aromas of lightly toasted malts with some caramel sweetness and definite piney and citrus hop notes. The taste is pretty much the same, with slightly toasted, bready, caramel malt sweetness along with a nice piney, earthy, and slightly citrusy hops. Good balance of flavors, and this does seem to be a bit more hoppy than I recall most other beers of this style that I’ve had have been. Has a crisp, slightly prickly, yet smooth and frothy, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish with a slightly dry aftertaste. An enjoyable beer all around here.
