The owners behave in a disgusting manner toward their customers, using homophobic language and making threats to them, then mocking people they've hurt on social media. What a shameful organization. The beer I've had from them was also terrible quality.

Huge open place with giant posts and beams. The brewing facility is on the same floor, complete with fork lift. The place is so vast you can have your own private 200 square feet. It need a collection of big trucks or some Cessnas.

The place is up the hill a good ways so it has great views of city and harbor out the walls of windows.

I see they are doing some collaborations, which should be a good thing for Dystopian. The beers are seriously idiosyncratic, but interesting. There are also a bunch of beers aging in rum and bourbon barrels. Digital tap lists (two) are easy to read and informative.

The place is quiet as the music is subdued. A group of serious game players were at one large table on a tuesday. There's a huge projection screen and couches in one corner. I didn't like the terrible glaring lights over the bar. The bartender was pleasant but busy so we didn't converse. I think Dystopian is worth a visit, and it anchors the north end of what has become a several-stop ale trail in downtown Tacoma.

One of the newest (if not the newest) breweries in Tacoma. We went opening weekend to see what was happening. Absolutely beautiful building. Lots of wood on the interior. No expense was spared when it came to architecture.

Big tap list, which would be useful if they had enough clean glassware to actually pour a taster flight. Was not able to get a taster flight, so we did a few single tasters.

Service get's low marks, not because the bar keeper's attitude was poor, but there weren't enough employees to ensure enough clean glassware to give people taster flights.

Quality get's low marks because the 3 or 4 beers we tried were uninspired and boring--and served WAY too cold. Two stouts, one porter, and something else so unremarkable that I don't recall what it was. I'm hoping that these are growing pains that the beers are experiencing, but only time will tell.

If you're on BA, chances are you're a huge beer nerd. Based on the quality of the beer coming out of here as the day of this review, this place isn't worth a visit. It appears that all of the money went into concept and design, and the beer recipes fell to the wayside.
