Appearance - Pours opaque and murky red/violet in color with a pink, near finger width head that fizzes away somewhat quickly, leaving a thin, broken layer of suds with a thin ring around the edge of the glass. Sub-par lacing, with a few broken lines and small spotting.
Smell - Blueberry that exhibits a hint of tartness, sweetness and certainly it's unique and almost musty earthen and herbal quality. Slight creamy sweetness underneath.
Taste - Prominent blueberry, but moreso by default than strength of flavor. A mix of berry sweetness, earth and a trace of tang. Levels off quickly. Hints of cream ride beneath, but don't do much interaction with the modest blueberry character.
Mouthfeel - Medium-to-full in body with low carbonation. Fair, creamy texture. Goes down easy enough.
Overall - Considering how good their Oranges are Orange is, and having had Claimstake's amazing Blue You're My Boy, this one simply disappoints by comparison. It's not a bad beer in their own right, I just think they've shown they are more capable than this, while another brewery has shown the potential of a blueberry-based Milkshake IPA.
