cool idea for a beer, a hazy ipa with peaches and black tea, done for their sixth anniversary, badass art on the can and a pretty solid offering, although for me it could be lightened some, a bit heavy for all day drinking even though the flavors make me want more. its also slightly over hopped in that its a little green and bitey on the finish, worse as it warms, and i think that comes at the expense of the peaches. its relatively dense from the tap but very pale, whitewashed looking, and it has a tall white head, creamy and lasting. nose and flavor of just about ripe peaches, more delicate white peach to me, especially without much fruity sweetness, and the bitter and slightly floral character of the tea, goes great with the hops in this, citra driven maybe, but its complex enough overall for the hop varietals to not be totally obvious. the fruit is a little more subtle than anticipated overall, i wish it were brighter in the taste, but it presents as natural anyway. the tea is cool with the hops, and this would be tasty even without fruit. i think the beer is a little messy overall, lighter and cleaner would be better, scale the hops down a little, even make it a clear ipa, a little harsh at temperature. i like the idea a lot better than the execution, but the fruitiness of the hops with the peach is nice, melon, lemon, tangerine all present. a little bitter for a hazy too which i dont dislike, a little starchy and soupy feeling even with decent carbonation. good, but it could have been great with a few tweaks and a bit more apparent attention to detail. still, one of the more interesting and dynamic beers i had in here...
