Hey its time to crank out yet another first review of a beer on this Next Glass owned website. Scrubenomics got ya, didn't it? Pour enjoyed at BeerNV. I like it there, especially after a morning at Mt. Rose. But when its not ski season, its like Tom Petty's Don't Come Around Here No More is jamming because I never make it in.
Anyhoo, pours the industry standard yellow-gold color. 1/3" white head from there. Aroma is feint, whether it be the hops, yeast, malt, there isn't much there, but also nothing bad. When you call something hoppy, or a lager, I hope to smell hops and lager yeast. Felt like an expedition. For being 100% New Zealand hops, they didn't really display that down under funkiness. Again, the hopping just didn't stand out, just felt like regulare American lager.
It serves its purpose, but its more of a middle of the road hopping regime here. The grain bill is simple and effective, good light dry airiness to it in the mouthfeel. Does nothing wrong, just kind of hit some different expectations out of the namesake/description.
