a fairly tidy but also real basic mass appeal type yellow lager calling itself a pils but without a ton of the character that usually defines the style, whatever type, like the malt and yeast both here are pretty benign, close to neutral, especially when first poured and frosty cold, i have no issues with the quality but it just feels a bit overly safe, like does the world really need another beer like this, im not sure. golden and clear with some shine and not a lot of head from the tap, there at their downtown location they share with revision, a great space worth checking out. there are subtle herbal hops, but this isnt hoppy and there really isnt any noble punch or crisping bitterness, but i suppose it brings some freshness. there is light honey type sweetness for a flash, drier later, and i do get a little doughy aspect to the lager yeast, so i guess it is all here, its just really subtle and takes a minute, but this is very mild beer. i like it having a little body, that keeps me engaged where the flavor cant quite, but nothing wrong with a mellow beer like this. not too light for winter weather either. i much prefer their more robust tuesday evening pils to this, but this will have a different audience for sure...
