From a 12oz can:
Appearance: Slightly hazy gold, good head.
Smell: Sweetness, some clove, some phenolic note.
Taste: A little sweetness up front, then the clove note and a little black pepper. A little fruit salad too—citrus and white grape. Medium-light feel.
Overall: It's been a while since I had a Belgian-style IPA, just not a very common style these days. This is a pretty solid one, doesn't whack you over the head with either the Belgian yeast or the hops, but a nicely balanced, easy drinking beer.

Had on tap. Feels like a beer caught in between being a belgian ipa and an american one. Golden caramel body with a ring of white foam, low carbonation for style. More hoppy and less yeasty than style dictates, though has good dark and citrus fruits in smell. Taste has both west coast hop bitters mixed with franco-belgian yeast, but doesn't seem like a good marriage, lots of clashing and washing each other out in sips. Feel leans more towards an american ipa than a belgian one, need to be heavier.

Look: clear, light copper, small solid head. Aroma: tropical fruit punch, tangerines, kiwis, pineapples, mangos, all good. Taste: all the tropics of the aroma magnified. Finish: quick with a bit of bitterness. Mouthfeel: medium bodied, lively carbonation. Comments: very good. The esters of the Belgian yeast balance well with the aggressive use of modern hops.

Clear and copper-toned, with a lush ivory head, slowly slipping and leaving lace.
Gorgeous aromatics: fruity, with a whiff of Belgian yeast funk. Light hop bitterness. Delightful.
In the mouth: Just a jolt of hop bitterness on first sip, then all is smooth once more. Another drink and another flash of bitter, fading back into malty goodness. Medium bodied. Clean, cracker-y malt flavors. Just enough Belgian yeast flavor, just enough hops. Good IPA and I can drink it.

I have never been a fan of Belgian IPA's and this is no different. It's trying to do too much. It's yeasty, it's piny, it's muddled fruit and hop wise and ends bitterly. I get thrown to and fro mid palate. It's carbonation isn't quite right either. I sadly do not recommend this beer in a lineup of otherwise superior examples of classic German styles.

L: pours brilliant gold permeated with streams of rapidly rising bubbles under a 1" off-white cap with moderate retention.
S: spicy tangerine herbal biscuit smell with a trace of ditch weed.
T: It enters the mouth with cream Belgian texture with spicy fruit and malt flavors that leads to a big bitter finish. The yeast flavors are moderate to moderately high, the malt flavors are moderately low to moderate and the hop flavors are moderate. The bitterness is moderately high.
F:The carbonation is moderately high and the body is moderate to moderately light.
O: This is a very easy to drink beer. the brewer achieves a nice balance between the Belgian yeasts and the hops.
