We brew a brilliant, golden hued beer using Czech-grown barley and hops. Then ferment it with a Czech lager yeast strain. Ours is a crisp, refreshing beer that delivers a hoppy effervescence and subtle malt flavor.

A: Slightly hazy gold with 1-finger white foamy head with average retention and no lacing.
S: Aroma is heaviest with Saaz hops herbal, floral with lighter breast pils malt
T: Flavor is a little sweeter than expected with pils maltiness with moderate Saaz sea breeze herbal hoppiness.
M: Light bodied with high carbonation.
O: Glad I got a chance to try Utepils Pils — thanks Greg!

On tap at Volstead in Eagan. This is by far one of my favorite beers - nice, dry, but offensively so. Has good flavor, easy to drink 3 and not think anything of it.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, straw-yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It left sudsy lacing on the glass. It smelled of bread crust, caramel and floral notes. Sweet caramel and toffee taste with a mild bitterness.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a Shaker pint glass, "canned" date "12:30:23".
APPEARANCE: pours a clear, golden color with less than one-finger white head that quickly dissipated until there was absolutely no head at all, medium carbonation, no lacing on the glass.
SMELL: it's very faint to the nose, earthy bread, white crackers.
TASTE: initially sweet honey then bread and an earthy hop note on the finish.
PALATE: medium body and carbonation.
OVERALL: this is a decent beer, not much going on with the nose and it had no head but tasted ok, it had an earthy hop profile that did not work for me, there are better Czech Pils to be had so I will not seek this one out again.

Tap pour at the tap room/brewery. Served chilled in a tulip glass.
Clear, pale gold colored body. Thin white head persists as an island and ring. Leaves behind some spots and partial rings of lacing.
Aroma of toasted malts and herbal hops.
Taste follows with toasted malts and slightly spicy hops.
Medium mouthfeel. Crisp and clean finish. Good carbonation.
On point for style.

16oz can canned 1/30/23 into a tall Pilsner glass.
L: Pours crystal clear clean & bright yellow gold w a small amt of large steady carbo bubbles, a thin white head, spotty veil lacing w light banding.
S: Crackery malts, lightly earthy, spicy hops, a hint of caramel, some fruits, lightly grassy, light bread.
T: Bright grassy wet hay hops, a hint of fruit, distant apple skin, caramelized malts, slightly bready again. Malting here is subtle yet brings balance. There is a bright little fruity linger that really decorates and punctuates the finish. Clean tasting.
F: Moderately crisp med-light body w a bubbly crisp middle and a bright, fast, dry finish that has a slight linger.
O: One of the cleanest looking and drinking American made Pils I've had. It has a beautiful taste with palpable all around appeal. A sentimental and elegant offering from Utepils and yes, they do have fantastic water quality! It is very good to excellent in it's style.

From a 16oz can:
Appearance: Clear yellow, good head, bubbly carbonation.
Smell: Fruity.
Taste: Mild sweetness, fruity, bready, with a mild bitterness in the finish. Not as dry as I hoped.
Overall: Next one from the mix pack is the pilsner. It was a little fruitier, maltier, and heavier bodied than I prefer, but still a solid pilsner. Maybe being on the unrefrigerated shelf for a couple months (Oct canning date) took the edge off the hops.

Colour is typical pils golden colour. Aroma is yeasty and breast; taste is bitter from start to finish, with some bready undertones. Certainly not bad, but probably not one I'd pick up again.

Had on tap. Basic pilsener, from the golden pour with a white head, to the stereotypical smell and taste of pilsner malt, grains, lemon, and grass hops, it is your a well rounded czech pilsner. Exactly what you would expect. Feel could be a little cleaner, but it is plenty crisp

Pours a crystal clear bright light yellow with a white head that falls away quickly. Minimal lacing. Aroma is faint, noble hops and biscuit. Flavor is sweet, and follows the nose. Feel is thin and watery, could use more carbonation. Overall a drinkable beer but not great.

Pours a brilliant pale golden/straw in color, topped with a rocky eggshell white head. Excellent lacing.
Big blast of Noble (Saaz) hops on the nose, and otherwise a classic Pils profile with no flaws.
Semi-sweet with a nice sharp hop bite (bitterness) straightaway, along with a nice touch of grassiness through the end of the drink. A milder bitterness lingers, paired with some light biscuit malt notes, and more light sweetness.
At 37 IBU it won’t “wow” any old school hopheads or new school IPA freaks, but it gets the job done and has a very classic Pils profile.
Excellent drinkability.
Essentially this is a pils worthy of the name “Utepils”, and is worth a try if you
enjoy the style, and may be worth seeking out if you truly love the style.
