Appearance: Pours a mostly clear (80% clarity) deep orange to dusky bronze color with a strong off-white head. SRM of 17-18. (4.00)

Aroma: Moderate aromas of dark grains, wheat, tree bark. Some nutty notes. Grainy. (3.75)

Flavor: Strong flavors of wheat, dry grains, tree bark with a peanut butter and nutty note. Grainy and dry. (4.00)

Feel: Medium-bodied, strong carbonation, for a full, grainy mouthfeel and a little bit of prickliness. (4.25)

Compared to Modist Pretty Metal 1/8/2023: Pours lighter, milder aromas. More grains, wheat, yeast. Less chocolate, roast, and oak. Fuller mouthfeel and grainier.

Compared to Utepils Loonar Eclipse 1/2023: Pours lighter, stronger aromas. More earthy grains and floral yeast. Less cocoa and roasted black bread. Heavier and more abrasive.
3/2023: Pours lighter, stronger head. More grain, brown bread, caramel, peanut butter. Less cocoa and roast.

Compared to Badger State SKI-BRW 3/2023: Pours lighter, stronger head. More brown bread and caramel notes. Less cholate and smooth caramel. More grainy and bready.

Overall: A fantastic release from Utepils here. This one basically drinks like a Zwickel in dark grain format. Wheat, grains, yeasty, but with a slight dark grain and heavier mouthfeel. Hard to differentiate from a Zwickel, but has a bit more toasted and nutty notes, sort of like peanut butter toast is how I would describe this one. This was a great release from Utepils and a trend of a style I'd like to see more of. (Rating: 4.14)
