Ever try a pogo stick? It's not for everyone. Neither is a hop-forward beer - but those who love the clean, crisp, citrus-y aroma of hops are gonna love Hoppestokk (which is the Norwegian word for pogo stick) with its bright, golden color. Sit back, relax, and enjoy! Or get up, jump around all over the place, and enjoy! Your call.

16 oz can into a Willi glass.
L: Pours a heavy straw light gold color with a 1/4" creamy head, steady carbo, head gets a bit frothy as carbo remains steady, medium patchy lacing.
S: Citrus, hard candy, caramelization with warming.
T: Overripe tangerine, a hint of marmalade, caramelized malts in the background, white grape. It is gently full-flavored and has a long and resinous linger across the finish.
F: Lightly brisk medium-light bodied mouthfeel with a medium-short dry finish. It becomes more pillowy with warming.
O: I enjoy the affably dry finish of this beer and its mildly full taste. It has a light zing and partially muted tastes overall. Quite tasty and enjoyable and is sort of session-like. It is excellent in its style.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, white head of foam. It left sticky patches of lace. It smelled of caramel, bread crust and citrus. Sweet caramel taste with citrus and a mild bitterness.

From a 12oz can:

Appearance: Clear gold, ok head.

Smell: Mild, maybe a bit of grain.

taste: A little grain then a moderate vegetal hoppiness. Not really citrus, not grassy, hard to define. Balanced with the grains but leans to the hoppy side.

Overall: Number 2 from Utepils mix pack. First can seemed to be a little more dortmunder-like, this can seems to be an Americanized hoppy lager. Well, they call it a hoppy lager and it is! Enjoyable and thirst-quenching.

12oz can. No dating information found. Purchased as a single at France 44.
Clear, pale gold colored body. Two skinny fingers of white head, which keeps being fed by rising bubbles. Leaves behind strands of lacing.
Aroma is grain and woody malts, with a slight depth of grapefruit and pineapple.
Taste is much more pine bitter than the nose. This pine wave arises midway and expands to the end. Close to a toffee malt flavor. Sweeter with fruity citrus at the beginning.
Soft and full mouth feel. Toffee-like thickness. Brief tongue sting. Very good carbonation.
Good reminder of a Norwegian mead. Not much in the aroma but the taste has some complexity. Mouth feel is tremendous. Distinctive.
