Gotta love when your buddy has his kegerator filled with a unique beer for you to tick. Thanks Andy.
A: Muddy cinnamon brown. not much head or lace.
S: Rich dark fruit, caramel and butter toffee, light hints of coffee and sweet tarts. Smells more like a Barley wine.
T: Pretty much a mirror of the nose. Rich toffee and sweet and tart hops and malt push and pull. I would swear this is a barley wine if pressed.
M: Medium body with a nice creamy carbonation level.
O: Overall a very nice sipping beer.

Tap pour into a snifter. Thanks to BeerFMAndy for having on tap. . . at his house!
(A)- Pours a dark caramel color. Produced a minimal tan head that went down to bubbles.
(S)- A rich caramel rich and honey aroma with subtle hints of fig.
(T)- Similar to the smell. A nice rich caramel and brown sugar malt profile. Hints at figs and honey.
(M)- A mellow/smooth carbonation level. A nice balance of sweet malts and fruits.
(D)- A nice easy drinking ale. Sweet and rich, but easy on the palate. Good stuff.

8 oz tap pour into a snifter.
A - The pour is a totally hazed brown amber with a dense tan head. Low retention probably due to the high alcohol. No lace left on the glass.
S - The aroma starts a little boozy. Lots of malts going on here. It's also a bit fruity; raisins, white grapes, some melon too. The aroma is very rich.
T - Very malty flavor with heavy fruit undertones that mirror the nose. A little boozy kick to it that's well balanced. Finishes with strong floral hops.
M - Vintage Ale is moderately carbonated with a rich, full body. Robust and bold, it's a little thicker but not syrupy.
D - The snifter let my hand warm the beer so nuances would pull out. It took a while to go down which is the nature of the beast I guess, but it was a pleasure to sip at.
