Set List
Eagle Park Brewing Company
Style: Hazy IPA
ABV: 6.5%
Look – 2.75
Pours a hazy SRM ~7 with decent head retention. Visually fine, but notably light in color for the style. For a beer clocking in at 6.5%, it looks thinner and more diluted than expected — almost underbuilt for an IPA.
Smell – 2.75
Light orange peel with hints of pineapple, but overall pretty muted. There’s just not much happening aromatically, especially for a hazy IPA where hop expression should lead the experience.
Taste – 2.75
Sweet-forward and noticeably unbalanced. Virtually no bitterness to speak of, and the hop structure feels incomplete. The grain bill doesn’t provide much backbone, which makes the 6.5% ABV hard to believe. The flavor profile comes across more like watered-down vodka with a splash of orange juice — a weak screwdriver vibe rather than an IPA. Juicy, sure, but lacking definition and depth.
Mouthfeel – 2.75
Low carbonation with a thin mouthfeel. Slight sweetness lingers, likely amplified by the absence of bitterness. There’s a faint mineral/calcium note. Medium body overall, but it feels hollow. Tasty enough, yet it gives the impression that something essential is missing.
Overall – 2.75
This beer doesn’t seem to know what it wants to be. It’s not really an IPA, not convincingly hazy, and at times doesn’t even feel like beer. The yeast character leans pineapple-forward with a subtle bubblegum note, reminiscent of weiss beer or even a lighter New Glarus Bubbler. The can’s black anodized aluminum look might be the most memorable part — maybe worth an extra five cents. After revisiting, this actually drinks worse than I remembered. I don’t need this one again.

12 oz undated can from the Wall of Beer in Clemson, SC ($2.69).
Poured with a good white head over a cloudy, pale yellow-gold body.
Aroma. Hoppy and yeasty(?), with notes of tropical fruits at the fore. Relatively pungent.
Flavor. Moderately strong and quite fruity with light bitterness.

12oz can
thanks to Derek for giving me a can to try
L: hazy yellow-golden body; thin white head disappears quickly
S: muted aroma of tropical fruit and citrus
T: passion fruit, pineapple juice, fruit cup, zesty lemony citrus, mild pine
F: medium body, lower carbonation, zesty and tart finish
O: this was just ok; not one I’d have again

real solid hazy here, not too dense and grainy, not green or harsh, boldly hopped and while maybe not the most distinctive hop profile, its fresh, nicely proportioned, and well refined overall in this style. all the beer we had in here was good. this is pale straw colored and uniformly cloudy but with no visible sediment and a nice creamy head. the nose is pine forward but the flavor is more citrus, clementine and pink grapefruit, fresh and zesty with light spiciness on the back end, i get subtle vanilla, coconut, and pineapple candy, but this is more northwestern than tropical in terms of hop complexion i reckon, even if bitterness is low. seems mostly wheat based but maybe some oats too, very pale, dry enough but not instant, and without much yeast character at all, its all hops in this. i love how its robust without having any burn, and how its so obviously dry hopped in the nose but the flavor is punchy too. pretty tidy overall for the style, not too much body, jazzy carbonation, and overall a really nice hazy. i was impressed with eagle park, tons of beers on the menu, lots of inventive stuff, solid takes on classics, real neat!

12 oz. can, canned 03/10/22. My second beer from Eagle Park Brewing, acquired a single can as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's. I can see by the picture on BeerAdvocate that they rebranded this one as a "Hazy" IPA.
Poured to a Camp Crystal Lake tumbler.
Pours a nice juicy golden orange body; two fingers of thick frothy white head that leaves good scattered lacing throughout. Looks pretty nice.
Nice aroma: fresh, floral, creamy, doughy. Notes of peaches.
Fruity & juicy - citrus juice, tangerine, guava. Bit of peppery spice / rye. Creamy smooth oaty body. Medium-bodied with hefty / prickling carb.
It was ok.

Canned 5/3/22; drank 6/6/22 @ the Yarchives.
Mostly opaque yellow appearance.
A violent pour yielded a huge off-white head; thick, frothy lace.
Lemon peel & baking soda notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Sweet lemon & baking soda flavors; a bit off-putting, but ultimately drinkable.
Not one I'll seek out again.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours cloudy orange with a fluffy white head. Smells of citrus hops with piney notes. Tastes of citrus and pine, nice balance, very slight tropical fruit. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

Probably should be marketed as a NEIPA, which is fine for me since I love a good NEIPA. Overall excellent, everything I want from an IPA.

Pours a hazy, golden orange with 2 finger eggshell head that leaves nice lacing and a cap of foam.
Smell of tangerine, biscuit malt, grapefruit and mango.
Taste starts out sweet tangerine and mango with a light hop bite (can was 2 weeks old) slight bitter grapefruit rind at the end.
Feel is medium thick and creamy with a lasting coating.
Overall more of a NEIPA with a slight bitter end than a true American IPA but a solid, sessionable beer.
