Poured pitch black with a brownish head. The aromas kinda threw me off. Notes of caramel taffy. Almost like burnt brown sugar with an over abundance of vanilla. It is the same taste wise, more caramel-like taffy and almost overwhelming vanilla. Beer is very sweet, no bitterness. Vanilla and caramel kinda overshadowed the cocoa. Mouthfeel is full bodied and thick. Overall, a somewhat odd aroma and taste. I don’t even know if caramel-taffy is a real thing but that is the only descriptor that comes to mind.
