8 ball black with a short but dense and fairly well retaining tan head.
Being free of any additional flavor components is perplexing to my palate because right up front it seems intentionally chocolatey of chewy Reisen, which is a wonderful characteristic to have in your non-adjuncted BA stout. While sticky and sweet up front, it's quite tasty, and the oak dries and cleans it up in the finish. Loads of vanillin complexify the hell out of this beast.
Easily in my top five at Great Taste of the Midwest 2022.
