Look – 3/5
Cloudy, darker than expected—around 9–10 SRM. Leaning more towards a double IPA at first glance. Pours nicely enough, but the head fades quickly and doesn’t leave much behind.
Smell – 2.5/5
Pineapple jumps out immediately, followed by a faint orange note. Beyond that, not much is happening. For an American IPA, the aroma feels muted and underdeveloped.
Taste – 2.75/5
Heavy malt presence right up front, which is surprising. Bitterness arrives late and lingers, suggesting balance, but it’s sluggish. There’s a strange toasted note—like an overdone yellow popcorn kernel—that feels completely out of place for the style. As it warms, honey-like sweetness shows up, adding to the identity crisis.
Mouthfeel – 2.5/5
Background bitterness from what seems like a bittering hop, but very little citrus, pine, or bright hop character. Some acidity and sweetness hit the back of the throat, but nothing pops. It’s unique, sure—but mostly just confusing.
Overall – 2.75/5
This beer left me scratching my head. It drinks like something that might be an IPA, but only because that’s what the can says. The hops don’t express clearly, the malt is oddly dominant, and the flavor profile feels unfocused. The can art leans hard into some kind of electronic/musician aesthetic—meters, switches, sliders, an eagle in a headband—and honestly, that’s about as clear as the beer itself.
At 7.8% ABV, I’m skeptical. It doesn’t drink anywhere near that strength. This feels less like a deliberate twist on the style and more like a beer labeled IPA because, well, that’s what sells. After trying another Eagle Park beer I didn’t care for, this one also feels off track.
Confusing is the best word I’ve got.

Clear dark orange-amber brew with plenty of foam in the Zundert chalice. Quite aromatic with orange and papaya. Sudsy and sharp on the tongue but also sweet. Tastes of mango and lemon with a dark finish. Bark and bitterness in the aftertaste. Moderately bitter and rather acidic, but quite sippable. From the 12 oz can purchased at Cellars WIne & Spirits in Phoenix. Dated 09/12/25. [Hops: Mosaic, Simcoe, Chinook, and Cashmere]

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours orange red with a fluffy white head. Smells of citrus and tropical fruit. Tastes of creamy citrus and tropical fruit. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.
