Cask pulled at Gitchee Gumee Brewfest - Clouded lemon gold with a very loosely bubbled thin topping.
Nose is a bit strange, its bready and sweet but softly so, a bit tangy and has some notions of butter cream.
Taste is subtle and complex with a decent sweet breadyness that has some really interesting layers of fruity stuff to it as it goes. Take the bread, spread some honey on there, little dabs of warm apple sauce, apricot jam, orange marmilade, and pinneapple and you've got yourself this fun little treat. Each sip kept bringing in warming new fruits. Only lacks a bit of weight and length.
Feel is quite nice, warming, sweet, and creamy medium-fullish body that unfortunately trails off to an empty finish. Its only downfall and a big one. I like to have that chewy sweet sticking on the back off the finish and palate for Maibocks and this came up short. Nice flavor profile though and the cask was a good way to appreciate its subtlities. A nice fruitier intwined Maibock.
