Thanks Joe for sharing! Quick review from notes.
Part of the Oktoberfest throwdown...

Amber orange body, plenty of foam, somewhat cloudy which was odd for a lager (unfiltered I guess). Some lace in the glass and visible carb around the edges.

Aromas of fruity esters, apple and pear, not much in the way of toasted grains.

More of the same in the taste, fairly yeast driven, apple sweetness and some mild maltiness. Came across more like a bock to some in the group. Seems pretty nontraditional, nothing like the German Oktoberfests we sampled alongside it. That said, it was drinkable and worth a try.

Luckily I had a pint of this before asking for a growler and ended up going a different direction with the growler (hefe). As bad of an interpretation of an Oktoberfest/Marzen as I have encountered. It has no lager qualities. Cloudy appearance...It has no toasty maltiness...rather it tastes like a sour infected batch of a light brown ale....nothing good about this...smell lacked any maltiness...

I remember sampling this last year and having a similar impression. I'd like to think maybe something went wrong in the brewing process but perhaps this is how they want it to taste....if so someone needs to toss their brewer a mixed sampler of some of the better o-fests so he can get a feel for the style...

One of the worst beers I have tried anywhere...
