Lori Karau, my wife's good friend from college and now my good friend lives north of Duluth, Minnesota. The three of us met this past weekend in Perkinstown, Wisconsin for a snowshoe race. Lori stopped in Superior and picked up a few (six) growlers to help take some edge off the -30 degree wind-chill predicted for the race. Thanks Lori.
Appearance - There's a reason this brew is called Yellow Snow. It has the orange-yellow hue found only in the snowbanks if Wisconsin's finest brewpubs.
Smell - The scent of hops is strong and obvious. Don't be afraid, you just might like it.
Taste - The flavor of the hops doesn't really hit until the finish. There's nothing real complex here.
Mouthfeel - Watery but smooth. The texture doesn't bring out the flavor like an IPA should. I think a little sandpaper would really assist the brew.
~ I'd really like to give this IPA a chance straight from the tapper. I think the growler took out some of the love. I know this fine brewery puts allot into every one of their fine beers.
