A true Irish Ale that is rich in flavor with a velvety smooth finish. A handcrafted Black Ale with a beautiful mocha head and excellent drinkability. Finally, a dark beer that won’t fill you up.

L - Very dark brown. Hard to tell, but appears pretty clear. Short and short-lived light tan head.
S - Bready malt with a hint of molasses.
T - Coffee and burnt toast. Lightly hopped. Flavor is somewhat lighter than I expected.
F - Light and unexpectedly crisp.
O - Dark malt flavors, but not overpowering.

Pours a LOUD, fizzy, tan head that collapses completely. A roasted malt aroma that smells quite acidic (a la coffee). Black color. Starts with a nice, toasted malt and a high carbonation. Then there is a great, robust build up of that roasted malt with a hint of hop bitterness. The finish is just a nice, dry, lingering of toasted malt.
Overall, this is quite nice. It's got a light body, but a really nice, toasty flavor. It's like a more aggressive Schwarzbier. I'd get this again! A great little session for St. Patty's!
The ONLY complaint I had is that one of the bottles may have had a loose cap, because it tasted sour. But that was just the one bottle.
