Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a clear golden amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading slowly over time to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell The aroma is heaviest of a caramel and bready smalt smell mixed with aromas of hay and some must. Along with these smells comes a touch of grass and herb.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready and caramel malt taste mixed with a decent showing of hay and must. The mustiness gets stronger and stronger as the taste advances, giving a somewhat off taste to t the flavor profile. At the same time some hop of a earthy and herbal nature comes to the tongue, all while the caramel dwindles a bit. In the end, with more hay coming to the tongue, one is left with a rather musty, but moderately crisp taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with an average carbonation. For the style and the flavors, the feel was nice and made for a nice drinker.
Overall – OK, but nothing too exceptional
