Fontange shines with Prosecco-like white grape and honeydew melon aromas from its Hallertau Blanc- and Hull Melon-heavy hop schedule. Reminiscent of Champagne, the flavor is marked by stonefruit and melon, with a gentle minerality on the dry finish.

From a 16 oz. can with smudged date stamp. Sampled on June 24, 2019.
The appearance is golden yellow with moderate clarity. That is, some haze. And the off-white head is full but fading.
The aroma emits a notable character of green grapes. melon, and cantaloupe but an odd sort of vegetable oil element and white bread.
Medium mouthfeel with a smooth texture.
There is still a crispy wine-like grape presence in the taste, which is also sweet at first but dry at the finish. Eh, so far I have not gone gaga for the Brut IPAs.

Can from Candia Rd.
Hazy deep golden color with a good sized head that slowly dissipates. Fruity earthy with some bready malt underneath. Doesn't seem as thin or bubbly as beers of the style usually are. That's just fine because I actually liked this one.

16oz undated can.
Pours clear yellow with a chill haze. A minimal head disolved to a partial skim coat with a trace of lacing. Plenty of grassy, spicy hops in the nose with hints of lavender and cooked corn. Light bodied with a thin, crisp mouthfeel. Honey-drizzled cut grass on the palate with a fairly big bitterness. Finishes very dry with a lingering bitterness.
Not digging the hops used, the big bitterness, or the grainy corn character.
