L: The color passes amber to be closer to brown, but ruby and amber highlights shine somewhat. It's not completely clear in body. The tan head that develops is big-bubbled and doesn't take particularly long to dissipate, and lacing is light to minimal
S: The honey is unquestionable, though not overpowering; toasty and caramel notes come through in the malts as well. It's not powerfully aromatic, but it shouldn't be
T: Honey shines all the way through without being overbearing, showing a skilled touch in a beer that's more difficult to balance. Some caramel and toasty notes come through with a nice nutty note stays with it. No metallic or off notes as sometimes developed in a brown.
F: Light to medium in body, completely appropriate, flowing smoothly with just a light crispness and carbonation; the feel never fades as it goes as some tend to
O: I hadn't heard anything about this one going into it (and my daughter picked it based on the can art), but this beer shows why it won a medal and also shows why rating to style is vitally important in a world that demands one extreme or the other from beer.

I tried this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a five sample flight. It poured a clear deep mahogany amber with thin off white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had dark malt, grain, and honey notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with good rich malt base, nice honey, and gentle finishing hop presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

At the brewery.
Pours an amber color with a thin head.
Aroma has distinctive notes honey.
Taste follows the nose, has a nice balance of sweet and malty. Like it a lot.
