From the growler via jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This excellent barleywine
pours a dark red tinged brown with a very nice head of khaki foam that settles
to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sports some excellent lacing. Nose of cherry,
fig, date, rich caramel, toffee, and spicy booze notes. Flavors follow the nose with
aplomb; dark toffee, caramel, brown sugars, dates, figs, cherries, spicy hops, biscuit,
and plum notes. Very nice mouth feel for the style; medium body, light carbonation
that is just perfect for this style, and a rich sweet yet balanced hop tinged finish.
Overall----best brew from Brink I have tried and an absolute masterpiece in the
traditional English style.
