Draft at brewery. Clear, bright golden, small silky head. Potent, pungent hoppy aroma. Floral, earthy, dank. Taste also reflects the aroma, providing big musty hops. Finishes clean.

i have seen lots of white ipa out there, but never a white pale, im not even sure they are going for a similar thing with this, as any belgian yeast element seems kind if light here, underdeveloped if at all present, but the beer remains hoppy and flavorful and clean, light to drink on, and somewhat unique, even if the fermentation profile is relatively subtle compared to what i have gotten used to with white ipa. the beer is bright golden and not quite all the way clear, with a short lived head from the tap and a strong nose of fir tree, bitter orange peel, and mowed lawn. its got a little peppery thing going on in the flavor, a simple pale malt base, and a whole bunch of hops, starting with fresh cut pine, a very christmas tree front end on this one, oily and sappy and kind of immediately wintery to me. a wintergreen or juniper sort of botanical profile is there too, before some bitter citrus in the finish. it has a long linger, a slight ester, and some hop bitterness that sticks around a little while, but its also pretty light to drink as this sort of thing goes, has cool flavor and balance, and is relatively distinct from other pales. a nice bit of innovation in a style that i think could really use a little spark right now. tasty hop profile on this one and a nice pint overall.
