Taster at brewery. Pale golden pour, scant head. Bready aroma, seems sweet. Taste brings in some of the rye funk. Thin for a cream ale, but understandable for Utah.

one of coolest recent beer surprises for me, i have liked fisher beers quite a bit, had a great time visiting the brewery a few years back, and have kept them on my radar, so i knew this would be decent, but they have done something quite fantastic in this, understated as it is, which is to work in what seems like a pretty high amount of rye into a cream ale that is still light, clean, dry, and refreshing, but also totally different from others out there, this really could be a signature beer for them, i was very impressed. so many rye beers these days, especially lighter styles, are so conservative with the earthy spicy pale rye malt, but this one goes pretty bold, i smell it and taste it as much as any other element in this brassy golden shining clear brew. i love the peppery rye starting and ending it, in between is a rather familiar cream ale type that might include some corn in the mash, has that lightness but also center palate sweetness to it, and the fermentation is real clean, almost lagered to me, some light crackery character to the yeast but almost no residual sugar and a cold tidiness that i really like. the rye makes the light noble seeming hops pop on the finish, which kicks this just over the hump from old man beer to relevant craft offering, but it bridges the gap well, and its not so polarizing that folks who like yellow beer arent going to like it, which is hard to do. i really liked this a lot, light bodied, effervescent, clean to drink on, but rye forward all the way. more like this please! they should can 30 packs of this for the summer...
