This was billed as an french oak barrel aged DIPA, so there are as expected notes of such a treatment in the nose (fresh, cut and plained wood planks), the taste (undeniable hints of soft, fresh oak) and a pretty silky feel. Taste also carries some sweet tangerine with it right up until a pretty massive blast of alcohol bitterness buries all else. This flavor burial also dominates the after taste, as it gets all bitter with alcohol sweetness on the tongue as each swig is finished off. A little out of whack with regard to balance on this one.
