this one was really nice, my first from springdale, which as i understand it is some offshoot of jacks abbey. this is a cool beer, a lager they say, but its hard to appreciate it as such, its so funky, lambic-esque even to me in the flavor. bright pink and fizzy from the tap, the fruit influence immediately obvious, not too dense, very lively. aroma is fresh tangy raspberries and much to my surprise, at least as much funk as their is sourness. not sure why i expected a quite lacto type thing, but thats not the case at all here, and this one is very wild! nice oak in nose and taste brings out a little sweetness in the fruit, which is highly dosed but really natural, juicy and real. subtle vanilla, white and red wine both, and a nice mature bretty profile thats a wonderful compliment to the moderate acidity, just far more complex on the yeast profile than i anticipated, delicious and mouth watering! great carbonation and a light body, still beery for how fruity it is, and a funkiness on the swallow that really does remind me of lambic. floral from the pink peppercorns and nice with the brett, but not at all over done. i really liked this, if its a lager its hard to tell, but overall i thought this was really terrific! definitely will be on the lookout for more wild types from these guys, glad to have them in the market here in colorado!

Pours a mild fizzy head that fades at a med pace, decent lacing, mostly clear slight haze candy red slight amber color

Nose starts with typical red sour, fruity and tangy acidic funk, little funk, little bacteria souring acidity, big raspberry, juicy jammy berry, little vinous and hint of oak, no peppercorn

Taste starts quite sour, more than I expected, sour flemmy acidic bacteria, with some funk, into big raspberry again, jammy berry and tart raspberry, no seed, little soft juicy feel with jammy fruit mixed in, a touch of oak and maybe a vinous note but hard to tell, not really getting the pink peppercorns, maybe a touch late adding a hint of spice, drier finish thankfully not too flemmy despite the acidity

Mouth is med to a bit lighter bod, decent but maybe a bit light on the carb too, fair acidity not really flemmy

Overall not bad, nice jammy raspberry, good sour, nice finish without much flemmy despite nice acidity, didn't really get much pink peppercorn though which would have been interesting.
