I love working my way through this Not Stirred series. Naturally when I took a trip up to Springdale/Jack's Abby the other day and saw they had this one I just had to pick it up. It's not often in beer you'll find tequila barrel aging, but I tend to like the ones I've had. I have pretty high hopes for this one so let's see what it's all about
Pours a cloudy orange gold with 2 fingers of white head that quickly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
This is just straight up ridiculously funky in the nose with a wonderful tartness. I'm picking up on aromas of lime zest, sharp oak, white tequila, wet hay, and a touch of vanilla
An aggressive sourness persists throughout the entire sip, and I'm all here for it. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting lime juice, smooth oak, white tequila, sea salt, and orange zest. The swallow brings notes of lime zest, slightly darker tequila, sea salt, funky leather, and sharp oak
A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a super crisp beer when combined with the tartness. Finishes a touch sticky but nothing too aggressively cloying
This is tequila aged beer done right! More than the sum of it's parts for sure, it's delightful and not overly complex. One of my favorites in the series thus far

Now a part of the Not Stirred series with a 7.6 abv. Had on tap at their beer garden. Pours hazy, brownish yellow in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is big tequila with sour mix. Sour light body, high carbonation. One of the better Not Stirred beers. Get loads of tequila. Made for a nice summer sipper.

Draft at the brewery
Light fizzy head, little lacing, crystal clear golden blond color
Nose starts with big Brett funk and sourness, golden blond soreness, souring Brett, lots of buttery oak and a little tequila, hint of lime and generic citrus,
Taste big buttery oak out front, tequila as well, a bit of salt on the back end and hint of lime zest, some souring Brett funk, little acidity, golden sour as bit of yeasty Brett, more tequila late, with big kick of lime and salt as well, finishing sticky a touch flemmy acidic and sour, big buttery oak and tequila with lime and salt
Mouth is med bod, fluffy carb, little flemmy acidity
Ok this was a big surprise, I didn't expect much and it blew me away, great oak, great tequila with just enough lime and salt, very nice base Brett soured golden blond, very well done.
