I was absolutely blown away by the paloma in this series, and I had been seeing this on the shelf for a while and just had to go for it after that
Pours a hazy orange gold with just a finger of white head that reduces to a ring quickly and leaves no lacing
This thing is super bretty in the aroma. Tons of funky leather, wet hay, and citrusy tartness. Not too much added by the barrel other than a slight smoothness, and unfortunately no trace of mint
The taste is at least more interesting. To start things off I get super bright lemon and woody funk. On the swallow, this gets a bit funkier and tangier with old leather. The mint is very mild, only appearing in the aftertaste
This has a medium body and extremely prickly carbonation. Despite this, it finishes very sticky, making it hard to take too many sips in a row
This wasn’t bad, but not worth the $8 bottle. The paloma was so so much better, but I’ll keep trying this series
