Springdale usually has pretty understated beers (which end up being very good), but this one seems out there for them. A donut porter? It could be good, let's find out
Pours dark brown with a finger and a half of tan head that quickly fades to a thin cap and leaves rings of lacing
The roast is pretty nice in the aroma, sweet vanilla, milk chocolate, mild malt. Not really too much like a malted milk ball
The taste starts off with a nice but subtle char, backed with some sweet malt, feels a little watery to start. After the swallow, I started to see the malted milk ball characteristic, but I'm not sure how well it works. Lots of dry malt, vanilla, milk chocolate and a hint of caramel, but nothing outstanding
A thin medium body pairs with gentle carbonation and sadly feels a little watered down. Still, it finishes smooth and off dry
Certainly not a bad beer overall, but quite unremarkable. I know Springdale can do better, and this is a weird one off so I won't judge them for this

Pours a tan foamy frothy 1.5 finger head with moderate retention, some sticky lacing, very dark brown molasses colored with no real light coming through
Nose brings lots of chocolate and lactose, milk chocolate and chocolate milk, a touch of roasted malt and caramelized sugars, and a bit of vanilla I think
Taste brings more sweet chocolate milk almost Yoohoo-like, lactose sugar, sweet cheap milk chocolate, a bit of cocoa powder, mild caramel and caramelized sugar as well as hint of dark roast, a bit of bitterness mostly from the malts, a bit of vanilla, into drier but sticky-sweet lactose finish with lingering chocolate milk and bitter mild spicy hops, I don't even really get the wafer cookie character I expected
Mouth is med bod, very milky creamy, med fizzy carb
Overall a big letdown for me, not much actual beer character, basically like cheap chocolate milk and no real malted wafer cookie dough character, quite gimmicky I think
