Sampled March 2019 from a tap in pint style glass.

Appearance: Very dark black, with a very thick dark tan head of many fingers. The head is high, but it is not creamy, instead it has larger bubbles, like some stouts. The head lasted a long length of time, and left a little lacing on the side of the glass.

Smell: Pronounced coffee and roasted malt aromas. Also chocolate and caramel aromas. I expected the chocolate to be more pronounced, but I did like aromas.

Taste: Pronounced coffee and chocolate flavors. There is more chocolate in the flavor than in the aroma. There is also some hop bitterness to balance the sweetness from the chocolate. I really like that it is neither overly sweet nor overly bitter. It is an interesting balance of flavors. It is and thick like a stout. It has a very good taste. The flavors provide for a unique stout, and I like the balance between the bitterness from the hops and the chocolate sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, with medium level of alcohol which matches with the 6.3% listed.

Overall: This chocolate milk stout is very good. It has a better mix of flavors than other milk stouts. One reason I like it is this is not overly creamy like many milk stouts, nor is it overly sweet as many chocolate stouts. The balance is very good and the contrast of sweet chocolate and hops makes for a unique and interesting stout. It tastes more like a mix of a chocolate milk stout and a RIS.

I really liked this, and would buy it again.
