A friend brought me a 16oz can…I’m not seeing a date stamp. Anyway, into a tulip, pours a cloudy dandelion light-gold, with a 1/2 finger head that recedes quickly. Nose is grapefruit peel and pith, caramel malts, and a little floral note to freshen things up. On the tongue, the grapefruit gets a little heavier and almost overripe, and there’s also some bright pine…but it isn’t totally harmonizing. There’s also some dull powdered sugary sweetness at the end, that’s both a little too much and also a little flat. Mouthful, notwithstanding the sugary finish is fairly good: moderate liveliness and bitterness, but again, it’s a little flat at the end.

Mycrating may be low bc I had a week old crowler of this from the brewery. Pours an opaque muddy tan yellow. Worse, it smells like rotting fruit. Good mouth feel, no real head but medium carbonation. Taste again may be impacted by the age, almost has a funky cheese or moldy flavor. I hope this bad review is due to the age of the crowler, but since it wasnt compromised and maintained carbonation, I think it's close to being the best this beer gets.

Crowler filled 4/1/17; drank the same day @ the Family Compound.
See-through yellow/orange appearance; champagne bubbles throughout.
Nice off-white head; decent lace.
Mango, caramel & mild pine notes in the nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Caramel & grapefruit bite flavors up front; mild pine dryness on the finish.
Nice enough, but I'd prefer this fruitier & less dry.

A crowler I purchased yesterday 03/04/17 at the brewery that I'm pouring in a Three Floyd's Teku for the review.
Look- Pours a slightly cloudy and brilliant but somewhat flat looking gold color leaving a few centimeters of white foam. It settles in quick fashion leaving no lacing behind. There are no carbonation bubbles present.
Smell- Very floral up front yielding to some pine and grapefruit. A solid dose of malt follows.
Taste- Grapefruit, pine and floral notes up front quickly washed down by a healthy dose of malt. A touch of orange zest pokes through in the finish.
Feel- It's rather flat with slight hop bite and semi dry finish.
Overall- A decent enough drinker that falls short of being interesting. It's more old school compared to the flavorful hop bombs that flood our beer world. A beer suited for the backyard BBQ or trip down the Galien River. Not necessarily a bad thing, I just prefer them bigger and juicier.
