From a 16oz can, undated, purchased at the brewery 06/05/19. Served in a cervoise.
Pours a moderately murky, dull orange juice-gold with a finger or so of suds. Retention is pretty good, leaving a bubbly cap and a foamy curtain of lacing.
Medium-intensity nose of sweet orange and vanilla. Sweet and perfumy.
Taste is slightly sweet and seriously flowery. Orange juice and peach skins and tons of something flowery, like carnations. Vanishingly low bitterness with a dank, weedy, floral finish.
Feel starts juicy but morphs into something slick, slippery and almost slimy. Medium-hefty bodied with ample carbonation - the carbonation is critical here because, if it were any less vigorous, the taste and mouthfeel would have ended up being reminiscent of the water from a vaseful of cut flowers.
Overall, a mixed bag. Not a bad beer but the floral character verges on overpowering and the slippery mouthfeel makes the second half of the can a minor chore.
