16oz can, no apparent freshness date. Pitch black pour with a talln foamy brown head that slowly fades. Aroma is roasty barley, dark cocoa, coffee, and lactose. Sweeter flavors that are backed by some roasty and earthy bitterness; notes of dark cocoa, coffee, lactose, char, ash, and earthy hops all meld fairly well on the palate. Full, creamy body, well balanced finish. Pretty good beer. I was hoping for coffee to come through.

Nov. 2019:
Draft pour at District Brew Yards. Much better coffee presence and more body.
Overall a big improvement from last year's can.
Dec 09, 2018 - 3.39
Overfilled pull top can, splashes out when opened.
Pours a clear brown, looks black in the glass, but clear brown in the light.
Ample lacing, thin foam that recedes quickly.
Aroma is a bit ashy and green. Coffee is a little stale, some black malt.
Taste is bitter and acrid. Stale burnt coffe, dry bitter aftertaste. No subtlety to the coffee and no malt sweetness to be found. For a milk stout, it’s super sharp and bitter.
Very thin bodied, not much like a stout, lacks body and creaminess.
Overall not the greatest. Wouldn’t drink this again.

Had on tap. Not a bad debut by any means. Thought the smell and jet black look were down right delicious, with coffee and malt playing great with dark chocolate. Taste was more robust than expected, but still very drinkable. Overall decent milk stout
