Brauhaus Alterbahnhof Ober Kassel “Gulasch Alt”
€2,30/,25L at the brewery on 28.09.21
Look: Hazy russet brown/orange beneath a fluffy head of yellowed off-white foam. Very good head retention and lacing.
Smell: Bready, nutty, toasty, and caramelish malt with fruity notes of apple and pear.
Taste: Bready, nutty, and toasty with dark caramel in the malt. The apple and pear remain, and there’s additional hoppy notes of herbs, earth, and woodiness. A stiff bitterness balances it and it finishes short lingering and dry with notes of earth and woodiness.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp with a seemingly natural and fine-bubbled, slightly elevated carbonation.
Overall: An impressive, somewhat complex altbier.

Tap @ Gulasch Brauhaus, Dussledorf - Pours light brown with a large foamy head. Nice lacing. Aroma- nutty to the fore, light malty/yeasty notes. Taste - nutty feel in the mouth, light roasted malts, crisp light bitter finish. Nuttiest fronted alt bier tasted.
