500 ml bottle into a snifter. Bottled 11/10/20, had 1/29/21. #FOBAB at home.
Pours near black and opaque, with a quarter inch foamy head and light, spotty cling. Aromas of oak, char, vanilla, chocolate, some bourbon, brown sugar, some tobacco and leather. Flavors of bourbon, oak, chocolate, vanilla, malt, brown sugar, some tobacco and leather. It’s fairly sweet, but no idea why. Smooth, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
Second BA Dark Pool variant I’ve tried, and the base stout is just so good and solid. The barrels here are restrained, but effective and it’s always nice to see the JD barrels being used, as they aren’t very often. Lots of vibrant aromas and flavors. Very enjoyable.
