Tinkoff's Brewery Restaurant

The 2005 spring seasonal brew at the Moscow Tinkoff's is called "With Smoke." It comes out slightly cloudy gold under a snow white two finger head with good body, excellent retention and some very nice lacing. The nose has a smokey touch to it, but it is also fruity sweet in an intriguing combination. The mouth is very prickly and light in body. There is a moderate but definitely smokey flavor, accented by fruity sweetness. Nicely balanced, the smoke neither overwhelms nor gets buried. The finish and aftertaste retain the smokiness, but lack any noticeable hops influence. The smoke is subdued, far more like the smell of a fireplace than that of a cigarette. Very nice effort.
