Poured at fridge temp. Pours black as night with a very thin layer of head. The nose is roasted malts, caramel, vanilla, slight spice from the Amburana (cinnamon-like). Also picking up a mild mocha note, alongside hint of anise.

The taste is really nice. The Amburana comes through here, although it's matched by a strong bitter note from the dark roasted malts. Definitely a big imperial stout that is not letting much else take hold. Slight vanilla, maybe a burnt toffee note, black licorice, and dark roasted coffee grounds. Intense and wonderful if you are a fan of roasty stouts (which I am!). I will definitely try to get another can when I visit Montreal soon.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and the aftertaste is a bit of Amburana spice and roasted malts. Lovely beer overall.
