I think this is different that the regular imperial stout, this says bourbon barrel aged, picked up at the brewery last week
An aggressive pour yields a nice foamy off white creamy thicker head, nice retention for the abv, thick soapy lacing and long legs
Nose lots of malts and barrel, very toasted biscuity cookie water malts, mild dark chocolate and hint of roast, black malt slight char, nice barrel raw oak and barrel additions, little coconut, spices, mild bourbon, mild dark fruits
Taste brings thick chewy stout, tons of dark chocolate, cocoa, mild roast and coffee, more cookie dough and biscuit wafer, no real caramel which is fine here, big barrel again, a bit of bourbon juice, baking spices touch of coconut, some vanilla, nice bitterness mix of mild spicy hops and roast malt bitterness, only a little bit of dark fruits, quicker finish but nice bitterness lingering
Mouth is thick chewy lush nice carb, no real alcohol
Overall this was an awesome beer. I feel like these guys can really nail it when they want to
