Collab with Hilliards chocolatier, I loved going there so this should be fun
Pours a tan foamy fizzy 1+ finger head with med retention, nice soapy lacing, dark basically black color
Nose brings lots of chocolate, layers of different kinds, some semi-sweet, ganache, cocoa, a bit of roasted coffee, some fruity aromas in there as well almost like a berry character, little spicy hop, caramel and fudge
Taste brings more layers of chocolate, dark chocolate and milk choc up front, with more ganache, a bit of roast with some smooth coffee, some toasted brownish malts with a little bread crust and caramel, biscuity wafer cookie notes, a hint of vanilla, med bitterness with some from malts and some from spicy earthy hops in the middle, finishing on the dry side with lingering spicy hop bitterness and more raw cocoa
Mouth is med to fuller bod, med to a bit higher carb, a little warming alcohol but not much
Overall pretty good, lots of layers of chocolate while the stout is still present, bitterness gets a little high for my taste but well within style, alcohol hidden well
