Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with a one finger head of puffy white foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading over time and leaving a moderate level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is quite heavy of a grainy and doughy smell mixed with a light caramel and a bit of yeast. Along with these smells comes notes of a very light toasted malt and a bit of earthiness.
Taste – The taste begins with a grainy cracker malt mixed with a bit of lightly toasted bread and a light caramel sweetness. The grainy flavor is the base of the brew, really establishing the nice pilsner nature and flavor. As the taste advances the breadiness fades a touch while the caramel gets a bit stronger. Other light earthy and herbal flavors also develop, leaving one with a grainy and crisp, but highly flavorful and clean taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is medium in thickness and creaminess with a moderate carbonation level. For the higher abv for the style (5.8 % for a pils) the feel is really quite fitting making it easier drinking while still supporting the slightly higher malt bill of the brew.
Overall – A quite nice and tasty pils. High in flavor for the style and very well drinking.
