On tap at Silver Lake Brewing Project in Perry, NY.
This one pours a clear brown color, with a small head, and no lacing.
This smells like applewood smoke, caramel-drizzled bread, smoked sausage, and toffee.
This worked really well- I wasn't sure if it would. I've never had a smoked dunkel- but it works here, as it tastes like delicious meaty smoke layered over a solid brown base. The smoke is reminiscent of a spiced sausage with bits of apple, with caramel, toasted bread, and toffee.
This is slightly thin, but again- like all of their beers- very clean and crisp. It's very drinkable despite the (somewhat) intense smoke flavor.
This is great- I want to see more local breweries do smoked lagers, or smoked beers of any kind.
