On tap at Silver Lake Brewing Project in Perry, NY.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and basically no lacing.

This smells like bitter roasted malt, a touch of smoke, very dark chocolate, ash, and coffee.

This is definitely a burly stout, and the exact opposite of a pastry stout. It's quite bitter- both pine and heavy roast. It's charred, and lightly smoky, too. I also get a lot of chocolate, as one would expect.

This is medium bodied, and quite creamy. I definitely would prefer a touch more creaminess to bulk up against the bitterness of the beer.

This is really solid stout, and it's cool to see some breweries reject the mega-sweet stout trend lately.
