i got a growler of Shamrock Stout last time i was in the Draught House. the bartender described it to me as 'roasty.'
it pours black, with only a hint of red coming through around the edges. the head is dark and slick. smells of fresh citrus and dry chocolate.
taste is of dry and roasted chocolate, smokeyness and roastiness dominate the taste. hops are fresh, pleasantly bitter citrus and pine.
mouthfeel is medium, slightly dry.
strongly hopped for an irish stout. very enjoyable.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub.
Josh said this one was brewed for Saint Patrick's Day.
The beer pours a black color with a tan head. The aroma is chocolate and coffee with a little hop character. The flavor is also chocolate and coffee but the hops come through quite bit. For an Irish Stout, this beer has a lot of piney hop character. Light-medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
