one of my favorite hoppy beers i had from our trip to wisconsin, really good, and such a cool idea, this is made with wet hops from local resident backyards around the area, homegrown in the truest sense. i dont think of wisconsin as a hotbed for hop growing, but why not?! no clue on the varietals, they probably dont know either, but its fun and the result is really good. honey colored beer with decent clarity from the pint can, short white head on top fades pretty quick. aroma is awesome, juicy hops pushing notes of pineapple, green tea, and coconut out, but its also got some nifty herbal properties and some bitterness apparent, the freshness stands out even this late after harvest, and the grain base is out of the way but not invisible, lightly toasted and lightly sweet in the center, a graham cracker thing to it. the hops are great in the flavor too, canned pineapple, green grape and not yet ripe kiwi, mandarin, and dried flowers, dynamic to say the least, not green at all, less bitter than it smells, but with a long finish anyway die to the oils from the hops. beautiful grain backing, also appreciably fresh, clean ferment. this could stand just a little more pep in terms of carbonation, but the overall drink is fantastic, a great hop profile and a unique one, perhaps not easily recreated, so just appreciated this in the now, very cool project, and if this is the last wet hop beer i drink this season, its a good one to end on!
