this is like the secret little lagunitas location thats doing the most to keep the faith right now, epic beers, totally under the radar, even in such a brewery rich neighborhood, seems like people either still dont know about it, or overlook it thinking its going to be the same old bag of tricks, but no, its entirely original, and until recently i dont even think you could get the familiar lagunitas beers there, something to do with permitting and things having to be made in house there, way cool! its a bunch of lagunitas beers youve never heard of, from a really talented beer maker, working basically independently from the mothership, really heady stuff here! the place is cool you cant miss it because its a purple warehouse, but they have some outside space out back, a little food truck thing thats happening for some grub, a big open taproom with the bar in the center, a great little stage on the brewery floor, tanks and barrels everywhere, and then an entire other half of the building that is set up like a living room, a private sort of event space with another bar and comfy seating, super cool and mellow vibes in here, even when its busy, an absolute ton of space, a lot of it not even really being used it doesnt seem. real impressive list of beers, even with the normal ones flowing, lots of seattle originals. their shilshole bay ipa is the staple, but the hazy ipa series has been rad, and there is a cool hoppy wit in there now, an impressive pils, and all kinds of barrel aged stuff, real diverse, way more than just ipa, all of it really good. innovative too, ingredients and processes, not getting enough attention. cool folks work here, it seems like they have a pretty close relationship with the washington hop farms, and there is a certain smallness to this that harkens back to the original lagunitas before it blew up. if you are in seattle and close by here, you are doing yourself a disservice to not go check it out with an open mind. to me this is the best of lagunitas these days and its not even really close! this is the antidote to what a lot of the rest of it has turned into...

One of the cooler stops on the Ballard brew crawl. Great Lags Seattle exclusive offerings, frequent local bands playing, the food is good and fairly priced. Great customer service despite the high volume of folks coming through the place. If you're doing the Ballard/Fremont experience this is one of the must go spots.
