Appearance: Arrives pitch colored with an ecru head; decent retention and lacing
Smell: Chocolate, black licorice and oak
Taste: Chocolate forward with licorice building; dark fruits, red wine grape and more chocolate; lactic tones throughout and a boozy finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation and warmth in the gullet
Overall: Surprised by the tart aspect of this one but this brewery is full of surprises
