Appearance: Pours a hazy auburn with a two finger head that leaves some strands behind
Smell: Layers of aromatics, with they typical BSDA tones of brown sugar, fig and date complemented by the Cabernet barrel impact; a third element is a pervasive funky farmhouse aspect that I presume comes from Brett
Taste: The base BSDA flavors arrive first, bringing brown sugar, fig and date; the funky farmhouse tones build rapidly, bringing some sourness, as well; after the swallow, the Cabernet barrel lays down another aspect; the finish has some warmth as the ABV is not well hidden
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation; warmth in the gullet
Overall: A really interesting beer that has many elements but ultimately brings too much to the palate; I was fascinated more than pleased by this beer
