Appearance: Pours root beer colored with a fizzy ecru head that noisily declines from two fingers to a collar; dotty lacing
Smell: Plum and funk with a subtle hint of chocolate
Taste: Tart plum flavors forward, with chocolate undertones more pronounced than in the aroma; funky throughout, with a balance between the sweet and tart elements; oaky, with a vinous aspect to the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with low to moderate carbonation
Overall: Although the carbonation didn't work out perfectly, there is a depth of flavor and nuance here that showcases the skill of Bhavana with barrel-aged mixed fermentation beer; two years in the barrel impart a lovely fruit forward angle
